ABOUT VIVEKA HEWMAN

Viveka is primarily a self taught Painter who has also studied classical painting techniques at the Florence Academy of Art, during Summer 2015 after which she took up an apprenticeship in 2018, under the internationally renowned Norwegian Painter, Odd Nerdrum.

The human figure predominates her work, which is usually exclusively worked on from life, and through her paintings she strives to induce an emotional response. She garners inspiration from the Old Masters as well as the varying landscapes that she has come across through her travels to and within Europe, the Middle East and parts of Asia.

Viveka is a Sri Lankan Painter and is also an MBA Graduate from the Birmingham City University, UK.

She currently works from her home studio in Colombo.

TV APPEARANCE:
She has appeared along with her painting ‘Reuben’ in the BBC2, UK programme, ‘Show Me The Monet’ aired March 2013.
